Cameron Heaney
Managing Director
Cameron commenced his career in the recruitment industry in 1994, after having spent six years in the hospitality industry, predominantly with the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne, where he was the Head Bar attendant at the Deco Bar.

Working initially in the Accounting department for Melbourne’s largest Hospitality recruitment organisation, he quickly became actively involved in the temporary recruitment team, becoming account manager for their largest client at that time. Moving to London in 1995, he made the transition to administration and accounting recruitment, working for one of the UK’s largest recruitment firms in both London and Brighton. During his time in the UK, he worked on both a permanent and temporary recruitment desk, with high degrees of success in a competitive, fast moving market. Deciding to return to Sydney in 1997, he took on a consultant role with the Morgan and Banks group, specialising in temporary recruitment in the financial services sector, before joining Robert Half International as their first new employee after the opening of their Sydney office (their first in the Australasian region) in 1998. As the Senior Staffing Manager on the Financial Services contracting team, Cameron was an integral member of the early team that helped the business grow in Sydney from 5 to 130 employees in just two years. In 2000, Cameron was the highest fee earner for Robert Half Australia, with a record number of contracting and permanent placements for the year.

At the end of 2000, Cameron decided to move back to Melbourne and, in the absence of a suitable opportunity with Robert Half in Melbourne, took on a role as Consulting Manager for the Senior Accounting and Finance contracting division at LINK Recruitment Group’s head office in Melbourne’s CBD. After two successful years in this position, both managing a team of consultants and handling a portfolio of his own, Cameron realised a long term ambition to open imagine Accounting and Finance Resourcing in February of 2003.
